Learn about Caves in the Classroom

Fantastic Caverns Underground Classroom is an appropriate example of extending a learning program beyond the walls of the classroom into the resources of the community. The Cave Science Program at Fantastic Caverns also encourages educators to teach about caves and Karst in the classroom with additional Cave Science resources and lessons plans.

Cave History

At Fantastic Caverns, students explore surface and subsurface relationships to build a better understanding of the interconnectivity of our Karst terrain. Activities taking place above ground directly affect the ecosystems below ground. Caves are an integral part of our Ozarks landscape and serve as natural sanctuaries for some of Missour's most rare and elusive creatures.
